Stage Managers and Assistant Directors must apply to the Director 3 weeks prior to a show's audition. You must submit a letter of intent indicating your experience, level of commitment and your schedule as well as why you believe you would be a good candidate for the position.
Procedures
Audition Packets are available in the download section of this website
- *Auditioners are asked to come on the day scheduled for their alpha group. This streamlines the process and spreads auditions over two days. Please stick to your Alpha group. If you are unable to audition during your scheduled time, please contact the director.
- *All auditioners and technicians will be asked to fill out an audition form. Please indicate your experience and any specific conflicts you will have with the rehearsal process. Your conflicts may affect the part that you get.
- *Come prepared with a 1 minute monologue for Regular Auditions or a 1 minute monologue and a 1 minute piece of music for Musical Auditions. Special shows may require your audition piece to be from a specific style or period. Check here for details.
- *Bring a drag sheet with your current grades
- *You may be asked to do a cold reading.
- *You will likely be asked to perform some kind of movement exercise, particularly if auditioning for a musical or show containing stage combat.
- *On rare occasions, especially for Musicals, there may be a call back day. Please make contact with the Director or Stage Manager to get this information.
Please remember that the auditioning process is difficult for everyone. You are expected to be courteous and respectful of
all auditioners. Also, the number of times you are asked to read is no indicator of whether you get a part or not. Just do
the best job you can.
Good Luck!
