Students are entitled to have one day of make up work for each day of school they have missed up to a maximum of 5 days. This is important to understand, because a student who may have missed two weeks of school for a family vacation has only 5 school days (not class days) to make up the work.
Students who have missed work due to unexcused absences, lengthy suspensions or unexcused tardies are not entitled to make up ANY of the work they missed. And an absence needs to be excused within 24 hours of the event! So parents, PLEASE help out your student by making sure they are at school each day on time! And if a student MUST miss school, make sure you call in to the Attendance Office right away and excuse that absence! Call 742-2500 to excuse all absences.
Finally, it is your STUDENT'S responsibility to make up the work, not yours or mine. Your student must come to me the FIRST DAY s/he is back to school and make arrangements to make up the work. If s/he waits too long, s/he will not be entitled to make up the work
